Incoming Kindle updates make navigation easier on some models

Amazon today announced a new pair of updates for the Kindle device collection recently. While this update does not come with great new features, they will come up with some smaller ones, hopefully make reading on a more intuitive Kindle. Unfortunately, it seems that only some users will get this update, because they are limited to the newer Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite devices along with the Oasis Kindle.

These new features will be launched in several different phases. The first will arrive in a few weeks, and it will provide the Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite, and the new Kindle Oasis menu friction is not completely what we will see on the smartphone. Users will have several options with this drop-down menu, because they can use it to turn on and turn off Bluetooth and Airplane modes. There will also be a synchronization button, shortcut to the full settings menu, and brightness slider on the menu too.

In the same update, we will also see the addition of lower under navigation blades. This is more limited than the swipe menu from above, but it will still allow you to switch between your home menu, library, and the book you are reading, which is a shortcut useful to be accessed quickly.

Then, the end of this year, we will see other updates that will change the way the library and home menu work. In the library, you will have a new filter option, display “collection”, and the “interactive” scroll bar that is changed. You can also access up to 20 books by swipe to the left of the Home screen.

We don’t have the right release date for one of these updates, but we know they will only be available on the 8th or newer Kindles, the 7th or newer Kindle paper, and the Kindle Oasis. So, if you have an older device than the models, unfortunately it must sit this update round. We will tell you when this update starts to multiply, so stay here for more.
